Violence Erupts as Convoy to Gwadar Attacked; Quetta Shuts Down in Protest
Quetta (Monitoring Desk): A government-enforced crackdown and protests have gripped Balochistan’s city of Gwadar today following violent incidents targeting a convoy from Quetta and other areas. In Mastung, gunfire aimed at protesters has left dozens injured, prompting a significant gathering of locals and participants who have staged a sit-in.
Business centers remain closed across the city, mirroring solidarity protests in Noshki and Dalbandin by merchant communities supporting the Raji movement against recent unrest. Meanwhile, demonstrators have maintained a continuous protest at Quetta’s Siryab area since last night’s tragic events, which resulted in 14 casualties, including four critically wounded. Reports indicate that convoys from various Balochistan cities have navigated through checkpoints to reach Turbat, Talar, and Buzi Top, while all roads leading into Gwadar have been heavily guarded ahead of today’s scheduled Raji gathering at Pedizir.
