PTI Passes Resolution at Peshawar Rally Declaring Imran Khan “Not a Threat to National Security

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) approved a detailed resolution during its Peshawar rally, asserting that party founder Imran Khan is **“not a threat to national security.”**

According to the resolution, the people of Pakistan consider Imran Khan a *national hero* and the country’s *legitimately elected Prime Minister*, chosen by the public on February 8, 2024. The party strongly rejected and condemned any suggestion that Imran Khan or his associates pose a danger to national security.

The resolution demanded **immediate justice and release** of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and all political detainees. It also called for lifting all restrictions on Imran Khan’s family, legal team, and political colleagues.

PTI paid tribute to all “martyrs of the political struggle,” whether of May 9, November 26, or any other day, and also saluted uniformed personnel who laid down their lives for the country. The party urged the government to ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten.

The resolution **completely rejected any proposal of Governor’s Rule** in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that the people of the province gave PTI a decisive mandate despite obstacles and alleged rigging. Any government formed under Governor’s Rule would be “illegal and unconstitutional,” the party declared.

PTI also expressed **strong protest** against the tone and remarks used by the Director General ISPR in the recent press conference, calling them inappropriate for elected leadership. The party demanded a public apology and accountability of those responsible.

The resolution criticized the “flawed logic” under which political dissent was gradually labeled a national security threat, viewing it as an attack on constitutional limits, civilian supremacy, public mandate, and the dignity of the armed forces.

PTI reiterated its commitment to peace and opposition to terrorism. It urged the federal government to implement the **unanimous peace jirga resolution** passed by the KP Assembly and to immediately recover the members of the PTM delegation who were detained.

The party highlighted the sacrifices of KP and former FATA in the war against terrorism, noting that out of 80,000 national casualties, more than 60,000 were from KP and ex-FATA. It asserted that despite these sacrifices, the region’s rights have remained unfulfilled since 1973.

The resolution demanded the immediate release of pending dues under NHP, fulfillment of commitments made during the FATA merger, and allocation of rightful shares in the next NFC Award.

PTI called for **restoration of full trade and diplomatic engagement with Afghanistan**, urging resolution of disputes through diplomatic channels for better bilateral and economic relations.

The party condemned alleged election rigging across Pakistan, especially in Peshawar and KP, and called on the Election Commission to ensure complete justice. It also asked the provincial government and assembly to conduct impartial investigations and take action against those found responsible.

Concluding the resolution, PTI demanded a national-level process to restore democracy, freedom of expression, judicial independence, and political rights. It urged steps to unite the nation and counter forces seeking to destabilize Pakistan.
