Balochistan Cabinet Approves Establishment of Bank of Balochistan

Quetta: The Balochistan cabinet has given formal approval for the establishment of the **Bank of Balochistan**, marking a major step toward strengthening the province’s financial infrastructure.
According to the official statement, Chief Minister **Sarfaraz Bugti** instructed that the bank must be made fully operational by next year. He emphasized that the bank’s administrative board should be formed strictly on merit and remain completely free from all political pressure and influence.
During the meeting, the cabinet also approved a **phase-wise ban on pollution-causing rickshaws and motorcycles**, while announcing the introduction of **electric bikes and electric rickshaws** across the province as part of environmental reforms.
Additionally, the appointment of the **Chairperson of the Balochistan Environmental Protection Tribunal** received official approval.
The cabinet further endorsed the **Birth and Death Registration Model Rules 2022**, and also approved a **Special Marriage Act** for the province’s **Baha’i minority community**.
