Balochistan Opposition Leader Questions Budget, Says Cannot Label It ‘People-Friendly’ Without Review

Quetta:Leader of the Opposition in the Balochistan Assembly, **Mir Younis Aziz Zehri**, has said that it is premature to label the newly presented provincial budget as “people-friendly” without thoroughly reviewing it. Speaking to the media after the budget was presented in the assembly, he announced that the opposition would formally present its stance during Friday’s session.

> *“The budget was just presented today. It is not possible to read and analyze it in just one hour. We will present our detailed position on Friday,”* Zehri told reporters.

He emphasized that the opposition has consistently provided suggestions regarding the budget and did the same for the **fiscal year 2025–26**. Zehri asserted that responsible analysis and criticism require time and scrutiny.

Also speaking on the occasion, National Party MPA **Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch** stressed the importance of ensuring proper representation of Balochistan’s interests in the budget.

> *“The opposition is present and will make its position clear,”* he stated.
