Not a Pakistani: Man Arrested in U.S. for Weapons Possession and Attack Plot Identified as Afghan Citizen

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Pakistan’s Foreign Office has clarified that the man arrested in the United States for illegal weapons possession and an alleged attack plot is **not a Pakistani**, but an Afghan citizen.
Foreign Office spokesperson **Tahir Andarabi** issued a statement confirming that the arrested individual, *Luqman Khan*, is an Afghan national. According to the spokesperson, investigations have revealed that Luqman Khan lived in Pakistan temporarily as a refugee and spent most of his life in the United States.
He added that certain media outlets incorrectly reported him as a Pakistani-origin U.S. citizen. “Luqman Khan holds dual nationality of the U.S. and Afghanistan. He also lived for some time in an Afghan refugee camp,” the spokesperson clarified.
Earlier, U.S. media had reported that a “Pakistani-American youth” was arrested in Delaware for possessing illegal weapons and planning an attack.
According to reports, **25-year-old Luqman Khan** was arrested on November 24 when police stopped a truck in Canby Park West. Police said he resisted orders to exit the vehicle before being taken into custody.
During the investigation, police recovered a pistol, magazines, and documents allegedly outlining an attack plan. The documents included a sketch of the University of Delaware Police Station, marked entry and exit points, and the name of a police officer.
Authorities in Pakistan have now confirmed that the suspect has **no connection to Pakistan** and the earlier reports were inaccurate.
