Trump ‘Unhappy’ with Iran’s Proposals as Nuclear Issue Remains Unclear

Washington: A U.S. official has claimed that President Donald Trump is not satisfied with the latest proposals put forward by Iran amid ongoing tensions.

According to a British news agency citing the official, the U.S. administration is concerned that Iran’s proposals do not clearly address key issues related to its nuclear program.

Reports indicate that Tehran conveyed its new proposals to Washington through Pakistan. The plan reportedly includes an initial ceasefire followed by guarantees for a permanent truce.

Iran has also linked the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to the lifting of U.S. restrictions, stating that discussions on its nuclear program could follow once these conditions are met. Tehran has further emphasized that any future agreement must recognize its right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes.

Meanwhile, President Trump has reiterated that negotiations would be meaningless if Iran does not abandon its pursuit of nuclear weapons. He added that Iran is free to initiate contact, noting that U.S. communication channels remain secure.
