Speaker Ayaz Sadiq Assures Opposition of Access for Imran Khan’s Family and Legal Team

Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq held an important meeting with opposition senators and MNAs in Islamabad, where detailed discussions were held on the country’s political situation, parliamentary coordination, and the issue of facilitating meetings between the family and legal team of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Speaking to V News, PTI leader Sardar Latif Khosa, who attended the meeting, said that widespread reports in national and international media regarding Imran Khan’s health, security, and prison conditions had raised serious concerns. Pakistanis around the world were anxious due to circulating information on social media and foreign newspapers.
Khosa said, *“Until we meet him directly, how can we confidently say that Imran Khan is fine?”*
He revealed that Speaker Ayaz Sadiq listened to the concerns seriously and immediately called government representatives including Rana Sanaullah, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Naveed Qamar, and others for consultations. Rana Sanaullah informed the meeting that the Prime Minister would return to the country the same night and that he would brief the opposition on Monday after discussing the matter with him.

The Speaker also sought assurance from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to ensure that at least parliamentarians, legal teams, and family members are allowed to meet Imran Khan. Another follow-up meeting between the opposition and the Speaker is scheduled for Monday.
Welcoming the opposition leaders to his chamber, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that political differences are temporary, but personal relationships and mutual respect among parliamentarians must always be upheld. He said, *“Politics does not last forever, but relationships do. I have always advocated dialogue, and I believe all issues can be resolved through negotiations.”*
During the meeting, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan raised the issue of granting access to Imran Khan’s family and lawyers. Opposition members also expressed concern over the difficulties allegedly created by the government in this regard.
The opposition delegation included Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Senator Faisal Javed, former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Iqbal Afridi, Atif Khan, Dr. Amjad Ali Khan, Sardar Latif Khosa, and Muhammad Jamal Ahsan Khan.
