‘I Am a Big Girl in a Small-Minded Society’: Mathira Slams Critics After Ramp Walk Backlash

Karachi: Pakistani model and TV host Mathira has strongly condemned the wave of criticism she faced after her recent ramp walk at a fashion show went viral on social media.

Known for her bold personality and outspoken style, Mathira once again became a trending topic as several users mocked her walk and physique. Some claimed she “looked better before” and criticised her for gaining weight, while others compared her to a “maid,” making derogatory remarks. One user even wrote sarcastically that they could “walk better than her.”

Responding to the backlash, Mathira expressed disappointment over the unnecessary negativity directed at her. She said she had been invited to the show as a model and had done nothing inappropriate, yet certain “sick-minded” social media pages were targeting her for no reason.

Mathira revealed that she had undergone knee surgery and had been dealing with severe thyroid issues, but despite that, people continued to shame her.

“I am living my life for myself,” she wrote. “I proudly say that I am a ‘big’ girl living in a small-minded society.”

She emphasised that she is focusing on her health and happiness and urged people to stop spreading baseless criticism.
