Sui Northern Restores Limited Gas Supply After Pipeline Explosion in Hasan Khel

Peshawar:** Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGPL) has resumed gas supply on a limited scale through an alternate pipeline after the main transmission line burst, officials said.
Deputy Commissioner Sanaullah stated that the **24-inch main line**, a key conduit for gas to Peshawar, Mardan, and Swat, was damaged. SNGPL has now started supply through a **16-inch backup line**, but limited capacity will result in reduced gas availability.
The DC added that domestic consumers will receive gas from **5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.**, while CNG stations will remain temporarily closed.
Meanwhile, SNGPL GM Waqas Shinwari said the explosion in the Hasan Khel pipeline is **likely an act of terrorism**, emphasizing that leaks alone would not have caused a fire.
The incident, which occurred last night, disrupted gas supply across several cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
