Abid Sher Ali Served Notice for Violating Ballot Secrecy in By-Election

**Faisalabad** – A video of former Member of the National Assembly **Abid Sher Ali** openly casting his vote during the **PP-116 Faisalabad by-election** has gone viral, prompting swift action from election authorities.

Following the video’s circulation, the **Returning Officer (RO) for PP-116** issued a formal notice to Abid Sher Ali for **violating the secrecy of the ballot**. According to the notice, the former MNA not only filmed himself casting his vote but was also clearly seen marking the ballot paper on camera—an act deemed illegal under election laws.

The RO stated that taking photographs or making videos while stamping the ballot paper constitutes a **serious breach of voter secrecy** and is a punishable offence.

A spokesperson for the **Punjab Provincial Election Commissioner** confirmed that Abid Sher Ali has been summoned tomorrow to explain his actions.
