Social Media Buzz After Javed Ahmed’s Claim of Rs400,000 Minimum Wage; User Jokes “I’ll Become a Labourer”

LAHORE: A recent statement by Barabri Party Chairman and former singer Javed Ahmed has gone viral on social media, sparking a wave of humorous and critical reactions. Javed Ahmed claimed that if his party comes to power, the minimum wage for labourers in Pakistan would be **Rs400,000** per month.

Social media users shared mixed reactions, with many mocking the statement. X user **Muqaddas Farooq Awan** commented sarcastically, “If Javed Ahmed comes into power, I would love to become a labourer.”

Another user, Noor, responded saying, “Javed Ahmed… this is stretching it too far!”

Reacting to the criticism, Javed Ahmed questioned why people were laughing at the idea. He argued that if wealthy political families such as the Sharifs, Bhutto-Zardaris, as well as leaders like Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi can earn millions within months under Pakistan’s capitalist system, then why is it considered unrealistic for an ordinary worker to earn Rs400,000?

He further asked whether labourers, farmers, and their children are not human beings deserving of a dignified income.
