Quetta Administrator Vows Citywide Clean-Up by January; Ends ‘Closed-Door’ Decision-Making, Fast-Tracks Building Approvals

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily)** — Administrator Metropolitan Corporation Quetta, Mujeeb Qambrani, has announced that all garbage dumps across the city will be cleared by **January**, emphasizing that decisions will no longer be made behind closed doors but through consultation with all **stakeholders**.

Speaking at a meeting with office bearers and members of the **Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI)**, Qambrani said that public feedback and participation are key to ensuring effective implementation of civic projects. He added that a **simplified complaint system** has been launched, allowing citizens to register sanitation-related complaints from their homes or offices in under a minute, which will be resolved within 24 hours.

The administrator stated that the city’s waste management contract had been awarded to a company after fulfilling all legal formalities. “We have handed over vehicles and equipment to the company, but in return, we have secured the **lowest per-ton garbage collection rate** in the country—Rs 5,221 per ton, compared to Rs 18,000 in one of Punjab’s cities,” he noted.

Qambrani announced that **old traffic signals** are being repaired and **new ones installed** to address traffic congestion. The **building code is being revised**, and residential building maps are now being issued within **one week**, while **commercial maps** are processed within **one month**.

He further said that the relocation of **dairy farms and mechanic workshops** outside city limits is under planning, and strict action will soon be taken against **beggars and drug addicts**.

The administrator also assured that development projects slowed down earlier have been expedited and that efforts to **beautify the city** are in progress. He invited the **Chamber of Commerce** and **traders’ associations** to adopt two major intersections for renovation and beautification.

Qambrani confirmed that large **billboards** across Quetta will soon be removed as part of urban improvement measures. He encouraged the business community to continue identifying civic issues, assuring swift resolution through regular stakeholder meetings.

At the conclusion of the session, the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented a **commemorative shield** to Administrator Mujeeb Qambrani in appreciation of his engagement with the city’s business community.
