Strict Action Against Traffic Violations: Quetta’s Busy Roads to Be Transformed into ‘Model Roads’, Says IG Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir

**Quetta, November 4 (Qudrat Daily):**
Inspector General (IG) of Police Balochistan, **Muhammad Tahir**, has directed immediate and strict action against traffic law violators while emphasizing that traffic police must maintain a **friendly attitude toward the public**. He also instructed that **awareness campaigns** regarding traffic rules continue in educational institutions.

The IG made these remarks during his visit to the **Traffic Police Office in Quetta**, where he presided over a meeting to review the city’s traffic management system. The meeting was attended by **DIG Police Quetta Imran Shaukat**, **SSP Traffic Dr. Muhammad Sami**, and other senior officers.

### **Traffic Management and Model Roads Initiative**

IG Muhammad Tahir stated that **encroachments** and **traffic congestion** remain serious issues in Quetta. To address these challenges, he announced that **high-traffic roads will be converted into ‘Model Roads’** in phases. These roads will feature **proper road markings, functioning traffic signals, and designated parking zones** to improve flow and safety.

### **Technology Integration and the ‘4E’ Strategy**

The IG emphasized the importance of adopting **modern technology** to upgrade the province’s traffic system. He instructed officials to operationalize **road spikes, protected U-turns, and advanced traffic management systems** to help reduce accidents and ensure smooth traffic movement.

He highlighted the implementation of the **‘4E Strategy’**—**Enforcement, Engineering, Emergency, and Education**—as a comprehensive framework to align Balochistan’s traffic management with **international standards**.

### **Parking Grounds and Public Convenience**

To further improve traffic flow, IG Muhammad Tahir said that formal **recommendations will be sent to the Balochistan government** for establishing **parking grounds** in key urban areas. These measures aim to provide citizens with better commuting facilities and reduce road congestion.

At the end of his visit, the IG inaugurated **“Mechanics on Wheels,” Shah Zor, and Education Unit vehicles**, all equipped with modern technology to assist in traffic education and enforcement efforts.
