Prime Suspect in Quetta Female Teacher Murder Case Arrested in Injured Condition — One Accomplice Still at Large

Quetta: The **Serious Crimes Investigation Wing (SCIW)** has arrested the main suspect involved in the murder of schoolteacher **Maryam Shahwani**, who was shot dead on **October 16** near her home on **Manojan Road**.

According to police, the suspect **Owais, son of Musa Muhammad Hasni**, was arrested in **injured condition** during a raid in **Killi Barat**. The operation was carried out under the supervision of **SSP Imran Qureshi** by a special investigation team using **modern forensic techniques and CCTV footage** to identify the culprits.

Earlier, the **first accused, Muhammad Jahanzeb son of Muhammad Hanif**, had already been arrested. However, Owais had been on the run, prompting multiple police raids to capture him.

Police stated that during the latest raid, the accused and his accomplice opened fire on law enforcement officers. In the exchange of fire, **Owais was accidentally wounded by a bullet fired by his own associate**, who managed to escape.

The injured suspect was taken into custody and shifted to **Civil Hospital Quetta** for treatment. Police confirmed that **raids are ongoing** to arrest the **fleeing accomplice** involved in the case.
