“Extortion in the Name of Levy Unacceptable; September 20 Long March Will Be Decisive Against Petroleum Price Hikes and Economic Exploitation” — Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and Member Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch has said that Jamaat-e-Islami’s struggle against the rise in petroleum product prices, for real relief for the people, and against inflation, injustice, and economic exploitation has entered a decisive phase. The September 20 march on Islamabad will prove to be an important milestone for securing the rights and justice of the people. Addressing an online meeting of provincial and district officials, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch said that on the instructions of Jamaat-e-Islami’s central leadership, full preparations for the September 20 Islamabad march are ongoing across Balochistan. The meeting reviewed the preparations for the march, while district ameers and officials were directed to further intensify the contact campaign.

He said that by increasing contacts with members, workers, membership candidates, affiliates, and the public, as many people as possible should be included in the Islamabad march. Workers should contact people at mosques, bazaars, markets, educational and commercial centers, and other places to spread Jamaat-e-Islami’s demands and the message of the march.

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch said that the people of Balochistan are already facing insecurity, unemployment, inflation, business difficulties, and the unavailability of basic facilities. In such circumstances, putting a further burden on people’s pockets through heavy taxes and levies on petroleum products is unacceptable. He said that instead of giving relief to the people, the rulers are increasing collections in the name of taxes and levies. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Islamabad march is not against any individual or party but is a peaceful public struggle for the rights of the people, justice, economic freedom, and against inflation and injustice.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan said that on September 20, the voice of the people of the entire country, including Balochistan, will resound in Islamabad, and the rulers will have to answer the people’s problems. He said that the rulers and powerful classes will have to give the people of Balochistan their rights.

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue its efforts to secure the people’s rights through peaceful, constitutional, and democratic struggle. He urged workers to make full preparations for the success of the Islamabad march and to reach Islamabad on September 20 as a strong and powerful voice of the people.
