Health Scandal in Balochistan’s Washuk: DHO Caught Red-Handed Stealing Government Medicines Worth Millions

Another major scandal highlighting serious negligence and corruption in the healthcare system has surfaced in Balochistan’s underdeveloped district of Washuk, where the District Health Officer (DHO) was arrested red-handed by police while attempting to sell government medicines on the black market.

According to sources, the DHO of Washuk was intercepted by police at around 3 a.m. while transporting **30 cartons of expensive government-issued medicines** in an official vehicle to Quetta. The total value of the seized medicines is reported to be **over Rs. 100 million**. These medicines were specifically allocated for poor patients in Washuk but were allegedly being diverted for illegal sale.

Police sources confirmed that all the medicines have been taken into custody. However, despite the arrest, **New Sariab Police Station has not yet registered an FIR against the DHO**, raising serious concerns among the public and civil society regarding transparency and accountability.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with citizens demanding immediate legal action and a thorough investigation to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
