Rain and Snow Forecast for Northern Areas as Dry, Cold Weather Persists Across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD:The **Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)** has predicted **rain and snowfall** in parts of the country over the coming days, while most regions are expected to remain **dry and cold**.

According to the PMD, **upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and adjoining areas** are likely to experience **partly cloudy weather** with **light rain at a few places**. In contrast, most plain areas will continue to see **dry conditions**, with **cold nights and mornings** in hilly regions.

Due to the **prolonged dry spell and rising air pollution**, **eastern districts of Punjab** are expected to remain **under the influence of smog**, prompting authorities to urge citizens to take **precautionary measures**.

In **Islamabad, Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas**, the weather will stay **cold and dry**, while **Lahore, Gujranwala, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Okara, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, and Multan** may continue to face **dense smog**.

In **Sindh and Balochistan**, conditions are likely to remain **cold and dry**, though **coastal Sindh** may witness **partly cloudy skies**.

The Met Office has forecast **rain in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Kurram, and Mansehra**, with **light rain and snowfall** expected at **some locations in Gilgit-Baltistan**. **Azad Kashmir** will experience **partly cloudy and cold weather**.

During the past 24 hours, most parts of the country remained **dry**, while **northern and hilly regions** recorded **cold temperatures**. **Smog** persisted over **eastern Punjab** districts.
