Women’s World Cup: Pakistan-India Match Faces Rain Threat After Political Tensions

COLOMBO: The highly anticipated ICC Women’s World Cup clash between Pakistan and India may be affected by rain following recent political tensions between the two sides.

According to Sri Lanka’s Meteorological Department, rain is likely to begin before the start of the match and may continue intermittently throughout the day, potentially disrupting play.

The report comes amid lingering controversy, as India has been accused of maintaining a rigid stance that goes against the spirit of the game—similar to the Men’s Asia Cup, where the Indian team refused to shake hands with Pakistani players.

It is worth noting that persistent rain also forced the cancellation of the Australia vs. Sri Lanka match yesterday, raising further concerns about weather interruptions in the ongoing tournament.
