Shibli Faraz and Omar Ayub Challenge Peshawar High Court Decision on De-seating in Supreme Court

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders **Omar Ayub Khan** and **Shibli Faraz** have filed an appeal in the **Supreme Court** challenging the **Peshawar High Court’s (PHC)** decision to lift the stay order on their de-seating from the National Assembly and Senate.

The appeal was filed by **PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan**, who is representing both leaders as their counsel.

Earlier, the Peshawar High Court had granted a stay order against the **Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP)** notification that de-seated the two PTI lawmakers following their convictions. However, on **October 1**, the court **vacated the stay order** and adjourned further proceedings.

In its latest order, the PHC also directed **Omar Ayub** to surrender before the competent forum. Both Ayub and Faraz have already filed appeals against their convictions before the relevant courts.

The **ECP had issued de-seating notifications** for both leaders after they were convicted by the courts — a move PTI has termed as politically motivated and legally flawed.
