Mohsin Naqvi to BCCI: ‘If India Wants the Asia Cup Trophy, the Captain Must Collect It from Me’

Dubai: Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President **Mohsin Naqvi** has given a blunt response to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), saying that if the Indian team wants the **Asia Cup trophy**, their captain must personally visit the ACC office to receive it.
According to sources, the statement came during an **ACC meeting in Dubai**, chaired by Naqvi. During the session, BCCI Vice President **Rajeev Shukla** repeatedly requested that the trophy be handed over to India.
However, Naqvi refused, stating: *“This item is not on the meeting’s agenda. If the Indian team wants the trophy, their captain should come to the ACC office and collect it from me.”*
The meeting ended without any decision on handing over the trophy to India.
It may be recalled that after winning the **Asia Cup final**, the Indian cricket team **refused to receive the trophy** from Mohsin Naqvi, leading the ACC President to stand firm. As a result, the ceremony concluded **without the presentation of the trophy**, which was taken away by the organizers.
The incident left the Indian team waiting in vain, as the trophy was not awarded to them.
