All Parties Unite Over Chaman’s Issues, Announce Historic Protest on October 11

CHAMAN: Political and religious parties in Chaman have announced a joint protest on October 11 against lawlessness, drug trafficking, extortion, and other pressing issues at the Chaman border. The protest will be staged in front of the Chaman Press Club.

The announcement was made by Awami National Party’s (ANP) provincial president, Asghar Khan Achakzai, while addressing a crowded joint press conference at the Chaman Press Club. Leaders from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) including provincial chief Maulana Abdul Waseh, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party’s (PkMAP) provincial president Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan, Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party’s (PNAP) provincial president Nasrullah Khan Zehri, and representatives of other political and social organizations were also present.

Speaking on behalf of all parties, Achakzai said: *“On Saturday, October 11, all parties will hold a historic protest in front of Chaman Press Club. We are united against lawlessness, drug smuggling, Afghan refugee issues, killings, extortion, gun culture, and the exploitation of mines and minerals.”*

The leaders urged the public to participate in the peaceful democratic protest, stressing that silence on Chaman’s challenges was no longer an option. They said the united protest aims to draw the attention of higher authorities towards the grave problems of the region and demand their immediate resolution.
