IHC to Hear Appeal Against Removal of PTA Chairman

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has scheduled a hearing on the petition challenging the removal of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Lt. Gen. (R) Hafeez ur Rehman.

A division bench comprising Justice Muhammad Asif and Justice Inam Amin Minhas will hear the intra-court appeal tomorrow.

The appeal was filed by Lt. Gen. (R) Hafeez ur Rehman after Justice Babar Sattar, in a verdict issued yesterday, ordered his immediate removal, declaring that his appointment as PTA chairman was not made in accordance with the law.

The upcoming hearing will determine whether the removal order stands or is suspended pending further proceedings.
