Indus River Faces High Flood Threat, Thousands Evacuate from Kacha Areas

Sindh/Punjab:Authorities have warned of an **extremely high-level flood** in the Indus River today as heavy inflows continue to reach **Guddu Barrage** from Punjab. The situation has put **Kashmore’s Kacha areas** at serious risk, forcing residents to move towards safer locations.
At **Kot Mithan**, the water level has risen sharply, prompting mass evacuations. Local administration has once again appealed to residents to vacate vulnerable areas to avoid potential danger.
Meanwhile, heavy rains in the **Kirthar Range** have caused flooding in streams and seasonal nullahs. Sindh Irrigation Minister **Jam Khan Shoro** stated that no protective embankments will be breached and assured that the government has prepared for a **super flood scenario**, with all necessary arrangements in place. However, officials estimate that **1.5 to 2 million people could be affected**.
The **Rain and Flood Emergency Monitoring Cell** has issued updated water flow data:

* **Sukkur Barrage:** Inflow 352,000 cusecs, Outflow 329,310 cusecs
* **Kotri Barrage:** Inflow 235,243 cusecs, Outflow 231,763 cusecs
* **Panjnad Barrage:** Inflow & Outflow 524,765 cusecs
* **Trimmu Barrage:** Inflow & Outflow 531,993 cusecs
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as downstream areas brace for the peak flood wave.
