Tragedy in Gujranwala: Three Newborns Die After Mother Fails to Reach Hospital Due to Floodwaters

Gujranwala: A heartbreaking incident occurred in the flood-hit village of **Rana, near Sohdra, Gujranwala**, where three newborn babies lost their lives after their mother could not receive timely medical assistance.
According to reports, floodwaters had blocked all access routes, preventing the expectant mother from reaching the hospital. Locals said that one baby was delivered at home, after which the woman’s condition worsened. While being transported in a vehicle towards a boat crossing, she gave birth to two more babies.
The mother delivered **three children—two girls and one boy**—but all of them tragically died due to the lack of immediate medical care and oxygen support.
Health department officials and civil society volunteers had ambulances prepared, but sources revealed that **boats could not operate in the area during the night**, leaving the mother and newborns stranded without access to the hospital.
The grieving mother, devastated by the loss, said, *“Roads were opened for everyone else, but not for us.”*
