Government of Balochistan Announces Establishment of “Bank of Balochistan”

Quetta: In a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the provincial government approved the establishment of the “Bank of Balochistan,” the province’s first-ever provincial bank. An initial feasibility report was presented in the meeting, declaring the project feasible. The Chief Minister directed that an operational plan be prepared within one week.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti stated that the Bank of Balochistan would provide modern and quality banking facilities to the public, traders, and investors. He added that the people of Balochistan would soon hear good news, as the initiative would boost economic activities across the province and create new employment opportunities for the youth.
He further emphasized that the Bank of Balochistan would become a historic milestone in the province’s economy, utilizing provincial resources to accelerate development projects.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, and other senior officials. Banking sector experts also joined the meeting online. It was agreed that the project would be made operational at the earliest.
