Bushra Ansari Faces Backlash Over Statement on Madam Noor Jehan and Lata Mangeshkar’s Belongings

Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari is facing criticism on social media following a recent television interview in which she expressed her deep admiration for legendary singers Madam Noor Jehan and Lata Mangeshkar.

In a widely circulated clip from a private TV channel’s program, Bushra appeared alongside her sister, actress Asma Abbas. During the show, Bushra revealed that she had once requested Noor Jehan’s daughters to gift her one of the late singer’s sarees. She emotionally shared that she received two sarees, one of which was stained with soil — a piece she said she has preserved in plastic packaging as a cherished memory.

Further light-heartedly elaborating on her admiration for musical legends, Bushra mentioned that she once joked with a fan, saying she would even treasure a saree worn by Lata Mangeshkar — “even if it had been used to wipe something.” She added that she’d also be happy to keep one of Amitabh Bachchan’s socks as a keepsake, highlighting her fondness for legendary artists.

While her comments were made in a humorous and affectionate tone, some social media users criticized the veteran actress, accusing her of seeking attention and calling her remarks unnecessary and exaggerated.
