TikToker Samia Hijab Breaks Silence on Broken Engagement with Hassan Zahid: ‘Better to Walk Away Than Face Abuse’
Islamabad: TikTok star Samia Hijab has spoken out in a new video, addressing the controversy surrounding her broken engagement with Hassan Zahid. She confirmed that while they were engaged, she decided to end the relationship after discovering his true character.
“My engagement with Hassan Zahid was real, but over time I realized what kind of person he was. That’s why I chose to walk away. If I had married him and later faced abuse, it would have been worse than ending things now,” Samia said.
Rejecting allegations that she received gifts or money from Hassan, Samia clarified: “He only gave me a ring at the time of engagement. I earn my own income — why would I need to take money from a thief?” She also highlighted that Zahid already faces theft charges and claimed she had been subjected to threats and even abduction attempts during her mother’s illness.
Samia further stated that if she had been killed, people would have sympathized with her, but because she is alive, she is being forced to justify herself. Drawing comparisons with the case of Sana Yusuf, she remarked that relationships are built on respect and trust, and no woman can live with a man who resorts to coercion or violence.
Concluding her message, Samia appealed to the public: “If people cannot support me, they should at least stop adding to my difficulties.”
