Sharjeel Memon Orders Removal of All Obstacles to Red Line BRT Project by September 15

KARACHI:Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has directed the removal of all obstacles hindering the progress of the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project by **September 15, 2025**.
The directive was issued during a high-level meeting chaired by the minister, which was attended by Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, CEO TransKarachi Fawad Ghaffar Soomro, engineers, consultants, and representatives of K-Electric.
Officials provided a detailed briefing on the current status and progress of the Red Line BRT project. The meeting also reviewed the challenges faced by contractors and discussed steps to eliminate the hurdles.
Sharjeel Memon instructed all relevant departments to resolve outstanding issues on an urgent basis to ensure that work on the project is not delayed further. He particularly emphasized the relocation of all utility services, including those of K-Electric, along the BRT route by the September 15 deadline.
He also ordered the swift completion of a **2.7-kilometer section of the K-IV pipeline**, which runs through the BRT corridor. The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board was instructed to expedite work to avoid any disruption to the project timeline.
“The Red Line BRT is a vital project for the people of Karachi. We cannot afford further delays,” the minister stated, urging all stakeholders to enhance coordination and continue uninterrupted work on the project.
