CTD and Federal Agencies Foil Major Terrorist Attack in Karachi, Two Militants Killed

KARACHI:A joint operation by **Federal Intelligence Agencies** and the **Sindh Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD)** led to a successful raid on a secret hideout of the **Fitna al-Khawarij** terrorist group in the **Askani Mohalla** area of the **Mochko Police Station** jurisdiction, located along the **Hub River Road**.

According to CTD spokesperson, the operation was initiated based on a tip-off from intelligence sources, which indicated that the militants were planning a significant attack. As the law enforcement agencies approached the location, the militants opened fire, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire.

The CTD confirmed that two terrorists were killed during the encounter. The recovered weapons from the scene included a suicide vest, an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, and a large amount of explosives. The bomb disposal squad was called in immediately to secure the area, given the presence of the suicide vest and explosives.

Authorities stated that the militants were in the process of planning a large-scale attack, but their plot was foiled thanks to timely intelligence and swift action. The area was cordoned off, and a thorough search operation was launched to apprehend any remaining elements.

Additional forces from both CTD and federal agencies were deployed to ensure the capture of any other potential operatives in the area. Authorities have assured that the security forces remain on high alert to prevent any future attacks.
