Jamshed Dasti Disqualified by Election Commission Over Fake Degree Case

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Jamshed Dasti after announcing a reserved verdict.
According to details, the decision was made in response to a reference sent by the Speaker of the National Assembly. Two separate petitions were filed against Dasti, alleging that he submitted fake educational credentials in his nomination papers.
The verdict stated that Jamshed Dasti’s submitted degrees were proven to be fake, rendering him no longer “Sadiq” (truthful) and “Ameen” (trustworthy) as per constitutional requirements.
