Passenger Mix-Up at Karachi Airport Leaves Pakistani Laborer Stranded After Airline Blunder

Karachi:In yet another case of **passenger mismanagement at a Pakistani airport**, a shocking incident occurred at **Karachi Airport**, just days after a similar mix-up in Lahore. This time, a Pakistani laborer heading to **Dubai** was **offloaded due to negligence by a foreign airline’s staff**, despite having a valid ticket with a **private Pakistani airline**.

According to **Geo News**, the passenger, **Arif Ali**, mistakenly approached the **briefing counter of a foreign airline**, instead of his actual airline. Shockingly, without verifying his ticket, the airline staff **issued him a boarding card for Flight 547 to Sharjah**, which belonged to another Arif Ali.

Arif Ali proceeded through **immigration and entered the departure lounge**, completely unaware of the mix-up. However, soon after, the **actual passenger for the Sharjah flight** with the same name arrived, exposing the mistake.

Upon realizing their error, the foreign airline **retrieved the boarding pass** from the Pakistani passenger and sent him back — but by that time, the boarding for his original **Dubai-bound flight (PA 110)** had **already closed**, and the private Pakistani airline **refused to accommodate him**, stating the flight had departed.

The **Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)** and **Pakistan Airports Authority** have reportedly taken **no action** against either airline involved.

Airport officials said the confusion arose because both passengers shared the same name, “Arif Ali.” They admitted the mistake was on the part of the foreign airline.

Adding to the tragedy, authorities confirmed that Arif Ali is an **illiterate, low-income laborer** who had **no money to purchase another ticket** after missing his flight.
