Bangladesh Air Force Chief Visits Pakistan, Consults on Possible JF-17 Purchase

Islamabad: The Chief of the Bangladesh Air Force visited Air Headquarters in Islamabad, where he was received with a guard of honor, and both sides agreed to strengthen defense cooperation between their air forces.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu welcomed the visiting Bangladeshi delegation. During the visit, a comprehensive plan for training cooperation was assured to the Bangladesh Air Force. Discussions were also held on the accelerated delivery of Super Mushshak trainer aircraft and long-term support arrangements.

The ISPR added that detailed consultations took place regarding maintenance of Bangladesh Air Force’s older fleet, air defense radar systems, and the potential acquisition of JF-17 Thunder fighter jets.

The Bangladeshi delegation also visited the National ISR, Cyber Command, and Aerospace Technology Park. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to transforming Pakistan-Bangladesh defense relations into a long-term strategic partnership.
