Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari Condemns Recent Terrorist Attack in Balochistan, Emphasizes Unity Against Terrorism

Punjab’s Information Minister, Azma Bukhari, expressed deep sorrow over the recent terrorist attack in Balochistan during a press conference in Lahore. She conveyed the heartfelt condolences of Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, to the families of the victims.
Bukhari stated that the entire nation stands united against terrorism, and it is now crucial for the state to take stronger actions to uproot this menace. Referring to the tragic incident, she mentioned that two brothers from Dunyapur, who were traveling to attend their father’s funeral, were brutally murdered after being singled out by their ID cards and removed from a bus. “Three coffins came from one house. It is an unbearable and deeply painful sight,” she said, condemning the act of terror.
The minister also pointed out the hypocrisy of so-called human rights champions, who remain silent when such horrific acts of violence occur in Balochistan. She criticized those elements who, instead of showing solidarity, were resorting to blame games during such a huge tragedy.
On a different note, Bukhari emphasized that improving the health sector remains the top priority for the Punjab government. She assured that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is working tirelessly to improve health services. She further elaborated that free healthcare services are being provided at public hospitals, and medicines are being delivered to patients’ doorsteps.
Addressing concerns about the health card program, Bukhari clarified that the program still allows patients to access treatment at private hospitals. She rejected negative propaganda about the health card scheme and promised that an audit report would soon be released to present the public with the true facts.
In response to criticism from the opposition, especially Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Bukhari dismissed their protests as a long-standing habit, saying that the government remains undeterred by protests and rumors. “We believe in public service. Allegations and rumors will not run the government,” she added.
Azma Bukhari’s remarks reflect the government’s commitment to addressing both national security concerns and the welfare of the people, despite political challenges.
