BEEF Achieves Historic Milestone: Over 42,000 Scholarships Awarded in 16 Months with Focus on Transparency and Merit

Quetta:The **Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF)** has marked a historic achievement by awarding **42,893 scholarships** to deserving students over the past **16 months**, underlining a major leap forward in the province’s education sector.

This accomplishment, valued at **Rs. 3.05 billion**, has been attributed to a **transparent, merit-based, and digitally reformed system** that ensured direct transfers to students and educational institutions. For the first time, the scholarship program has been **synchronized with the academic calendar**, and all **pending cases have been cleared**.

Under the current government led by **Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti**, BEEF has received **unprecedented institutional strengthening**. With **Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon** serving as BEEF Chairman, the fund has witnessed a **historic increase of Rs. 6 billion**, along with the launch of **six fully funded new scholarship schemes**.

Among the new initiatives, the **Foreign PhD Scholarship Program** and the **Oxford Pakistan Scholarship** stand out, offering talented students from Balochistan the opportunity to pursue **PhD and postgraduate education** in the world’s **top 100 universities**. In 2025, **10 outstanding students** from the province will be sent to globally renowned institutions in fields such as **pharmaceutical sciences, aviation, and medical sciences**.

Reflecting on its performance from **2015 to 2025**, BEEF has distributed **over 101,050 scholarships**, amounting to **more than Rs. 6.66 billion**.
