BSO Pajjar Condemns Arrest of UoB Employees’ Leaders, Demands Immediate Release

Quetta:The Baloch Students Organization (Pajjar) University of Balochistan Unit Secretary has strongly condemned the unjustified arrest and baton charge on the leaders of the University of Balochistan Officers and Employees Associations.

In a statement issued to the press, the Unit Secretary said that the arrest of Nazir Lahri and Shah Ali Bugti, heads of the Officers and Employees Associations, is not only a blatant violation of human rights but also an attack on the constitutional and democratic rights of university staff members.

He emphasized that expressing dissent and raising one’s voice for legitimate demands is a fundamental right of every citizen. “The officers and employees of the University of Balochistan staged a peaceful protest to demand their rights, but their action was met with state oppression and use of force, which is both regrettable and condemnable,” the statement read.

The Unit Secretary warned the Government of Balochistan and concerned authorities that they will be held responsible for any further unrest. He demanded the immediate release of the detained individuals, a transparent inquiry against those involved in the baton charge, and the resolution of staff-related issues on a priority basis.

He concluded by stressing that failure to address these issues could negatively impact the academic and administrative environment not only at the University of Balochistan but across the entire province.
