No Decision Yet on PTI Ban, Consultation with Allies Needed: Deputy Prime Minister

Lahore: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated that no decision has been made regarding a ban on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and consultation with allies will precede any action. Speaking to media in Lahore, Deputy Prime Minister Dar emphasized that the PML-N government did not bring inflation, asserting that Nawaz Sharif was ousted, plunging the country into turmoil.
He highlighted that PTI had driven the country into default within six to seven months, alleging massive electoral fraud in 2018 to empower one individual. PTI had pushed the national economy from 24th to 47th place globally, claiming PML-N saved the country from bankruptcy despite lacking a desire for power.
Dar reinforced accusations of foreign funding against PTI, insisting evidence exists and cannot be refuted. The Election Commission declared PTI a foreign-funded party, condemning the May 9 incident and demanding punishment for those involved.
On the issue of imposing a ban on PTI, Dar clarified that no decision has been reached yet. Consultations with allies, including PML-N leadership, will precede any final decision in accordance with the law and constitution. Political decisions contrary to law and constitution will not be made.
