Sana Mir Becomes First Pakistani Woman Inducted into ICC Hall of Fame, Calls It a Dream Come True

Lahore:Former Pakistan women’s cricket team captain **Sana Mir** has become the **first Pakistani female cricketer** to be inducted into the **ICC Hall of Fame 2025**, joining a legendary list of international cricket icons. Following the announcement, Sana Mir issued her heartfelt response on social media, expressing deep gratitude and pride.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sana wrote, *“When I received the news, my first reaction was ‘Alhamdulillah.’ Representing Pakistan in cricket has always been the greatest honor of my life.”*
Reflecting on her journey, she shared, *“As a little girl, I once dreamed that maybe one day, our country would have a women’s cricket team. Standing here today, being named among the legends I idolized in childhood, is a moment I never imagined.”*

She also dedicated the honor to all girls who face societal challenges while following their passion:
*“Tonight is not just about me, but for every girl who picks up a bat or a ball in a world that often tells her it’s not for her. For every woman breaking barriers — on the field, in homes, or wherever she must — this is for you. Our paths may be difficult, but they are possible.”*
Sana concluded her message with a note of gratitude and hope:
*“I thank my teammates, coaches, and family for standing by me in turning my dream into reality. The best moments are yet to come, Insha’Allah.”*
With this historic achievement, **Sana Mir joins the elite company of seven other Pakistani cricketers** in the ICC Hall of Fame: **Imran Khan**, **Wasim Akram**, **Javed Miandad**, **Abdul Qadir**, **Zaheer Abbas**, **Waqar Younis**, and **Hanif Mohammad**.
Sana’s induction not only cements her legacy but also marks a significant milestone for women’s cricket in Pakistan and beyond.
