PTI’s Protest Call Will Backfire, Warns PM’s Special Assistant Rana Sanaullah

ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Political Affairs, **Rana Sanaullah**, has warned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that any future protest movement could lead to legal consequences for its supporters if they attempt to take the law into their own hands.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Rana Sanaullah said:

> “If PTI gives a protest call, some of their people will break the law, and they will be caught. That’s inevitable.”

Referring to PTI’s previous protest plans, he said:

> “Last year, they gave a call for November 24, and even then I said they neither had the capacity nor preparation. Now it’s already May 10 — and after this, another two years will pass. They are unnecessarily creating trouble for themselves and their workers.”

Rana further emphasized that **Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has offered dialogue**, encouraging PTI to sit and discuss national issues rather than resort to agitation.

> “The Prime Minister has made it clear: come and talk to us, let’s find solutions together. Any threat from a so-called movement will harm PTI more than anyone else.”

His remarks come amid renewed speculation that PTI may soon announce a fresh protest campaign — a move the government appears confident in countering both politically and through law enforcement.
