Politician Saira Bano’s Humorous Remark on Ishaq Dar’s Grandson Sparks Social Media Discussion

Lahore: Political figure Saira Bano has sparked discussion on social media after making a humorous remark regarding the reported arrest of the grandson of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister **Ishaq Dar>.

Commenting on a column by journalist and analyst Sohail Warraich, Saira Bano wrote on X: “There’s no kernel in the peanut, and we’re not your grandfather—end of discussion!” The phrase quickly attracted attention online for its satirical tone.

In his newspaper column, Sohail Warraich discussed internal dynamics within the Pakistan Muslim League (N), suggesting that party members could be broadly divided into different groups based on their political standing and influence.

Referring to the reported arrest of Ishaq Dar’s grandson, Warraich argued that the Deputy Prime Minister should not be held personally responsible for the alleged actions of a family member. He wrote that while political decisions and policies are open to criticism, assigning blame to a grandparent for the alleged crimes of a grandchild is neither legally, morally, nor ethically justified.

The columnist maintained that any individual accused of wrongdoing should face the legal process independently, while family members should not be subjected to personal attacks solely because of their relationship to the accused.
