Congress Leader Acknowledges India’s Humiliating Defeat in ‘Operation Bunyan al-Marsous’, Slams Modi Government

NEW DELHI:A political storm has erupted in India following its significant defeat in Pakistan’s *Operation Bunyan al-Marsous*, part of the larger *Battle for Truth (Ma’raka-e-Haq)*. Senior Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar publicly admitted the magnitude of India’s loss and launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian military’s strategies.
Describing the defeat as “humiliating and historic,” Wadettiwar accused the Modi administration of reckless military spending and failed defense planning. He pointed to the ineffectiveness of India’s high-cost defense systems, stating that while Pakistan used low-cost drones, India squandered billions in response.
“Pakistan sent thousands of low-cost drones, allegedly supported by Chinese supply lines, while Modi’s government fired Rs. 15 lakh (\$18,000) missiles to shoot down Rs. 15,000 (\$180) drones. This is not strategy—it’s insanity,” said Wadettiwar in his fiery statement.
He further criticized the government’s silence on the reported destruction of 3 to 4 Rafale jets by Pakistani strikes, questioning the lack of transparency. “The government made noise about the Rafale deal—why hide the losses now?” he asked.
Wadettiwar said the people of India deserve answers, accusing the Modi regime of wasting taxpayers’ money and misleading the public with false bravado. He concluded by labeling Modi’s military policy as “a complete failure in the face of Pakistan’s efficient and low-cost warfare tactics.”
Defense analysts have echoed similar concerns, blaming Modi’s ego-driven decisions for compromising national security. “Expensive weaponry alone doesn’t win wars—strategy does. India’s outdated approach was clearly exposed,” said a senior defense expert.
The Congress leader’s remarks come amid rising political pressure and calls for an internal inquiry into India’s military preparedness and spending in the aftermath of the conflict.
