Hazara Democratic Party Criticizes Governance in Quetta, Raises Concerns Over Public Services

Quetta: The Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) has strongly criticized the performance of government departments and expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation and public services in Quetta, alleging that recent administrative changes have led to an increase in the city’s problems.

In a statement, the party claimed that since what it described as “imported” individuals were placed in positions of authority in Quetta, the city’s residents have been facing growing difficulties. It alleged that systems and administrative mechanisms established during the tenure of previous elected representatives have been weakened.

The HDP said residents are experiencing irregular electricity load-shedding, shortages of natural gas, and an increasingly severe drinking water crisis. The party argued that public utility departments had previously been more responsive to citizens’ concerns but claimed their performance has since declined.

The statement also referred to past efforts by elected representatives, saying they had participated in public protests over gas shortages and had summoned senior gas utility officials to the provincial assembly to seek accountability.

The party further alleged that the performance of the Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) has deteriorated, claiming that tube wells remain out of service for several days due to delayed maintenance. It cited tube wells on Alamdar Road as an example, stating that they supply water to a large section of the city’s population.

The HDP called on government departments to focus on addressing the concerns of the public and ensuring the uninterrupted provision of essential services, including water, electricity, and natural gas. The statement reflects the party’s political position and criticism of the current administration.
