Dispute Over Agricultural Land in Chitkan: Department of Agriculture Claims Illegal Occupation Despite Court Orders

Panjgur:The district heads of the Agriculture Extension Department have raised serious concerns over the illegal occupation of land in Chitkan, which was allotted to the department in 1982. The land, currently under construction for a boundary wall, is legally registered under the Agriculture Department and the Revenue Department of Panjgur, and relevant documents are available with both departments. Despite several written complaints to the provincial officials and district administration, no significant action has been taken to address the issue.
According to the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Panjgur, the land in question was allotted to the person who has claimed ownership. However, the Agriculture Department asserts that this allotment is fraudulent. The Deputy Director of the Agriculture Extension Department in Panjgur stated that he personally discussed the matter with the district chairman and requested measures to prevent further encroachment on the department’s land. Unfortunately, no protective steps have been taken by the chairman so far.
The issue of encroachment on the Agriculture Extension Department’s land has persisted for the past 30 years, with several cases currently under trial in various courts. Of these, three cases have been decided in favor of the Agriculture Department, and immediate orders were issued to remove the land from illegal occupiers. However, the district administration has failed to implement the court orders and evict the land mafia.
The Deputy Director of the Agriculture Extension Department further mentioned that a petition has been filed in court to challenge the ongoing encroachment, and he hopes for a swift decision. He also expressed hope that the district administration and the Anti-Encroachment Cell will fulfill their responsibilities in protecting the land.
