By-Elections Underway in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur-IV Constituency

Islamabad:Today, interim elections are being held in the vacant seat of PK-22 Bajaur-IV constituency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Voting is currently underway without interruption until 5 PM, local time.

According to the Election Commission, polling materials, including ballot papers, were handed over to polling staff yesterday. Stringent security arrangements have been made at polling stations across the constituency.

Twelve candidates are contesting in the by-elections, including Abid Khan from Jamaat-e-Islami, Muhammad Nasir Baz from ANP, Rahatullah from Sunni Ittehad, Abdullah from Pakistan Peoples Party, and Najibullah Khan Azad, son of former governor Shaukatullah Khan, running independently after not receiving a PTI ticket.

A total of 179,110 voters, comprising 99,038 men and 79,972 women, are expected to exercise their right to vote. There are 91 polling stations established with 276 polling booths. Polling commenced at 8 AM and will continue uninterrupted until 5 PM.

To ensure oversight of the polling process and address any complaints, the Election Commission has set up a Monitoring Control Room at the office of the Election Commissioner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
