Fakhar Zaman Credits Bowlers and Strong Opening Partnership for Lahore Qalandars’ Victory

Karachi: Lahore Qalandars’ opening batsman Fakhar Zaman has shared his thoughts on the team’s recent victory over Karachi Kings, emphasizing the importance of strong starts in increasing a team’s chances of winning.

Speaking to the media after the match, Fakhar said, *“When the openers score well, the chances of winning rise significantly. With the quality of our bowling attack, we can always perform well.”*

He praised the bowlers for their exceptional efforts, stating that they deserve much of the credit for the team’s success. Discussing his role, Fakhar explained, *“I’ve always played an aggressive brand of cricket, but considering the pitch conditions weren’t ideal, we focused on building a partnership first and then went for big shots. The idea was to preserve wickets early on.”*

Fakhar also opened up about the challenges of returning from injury, admitting that he couldn’t perform his best in the previous match and still found the conditions challenging this time around.

He added, *“Yes, I received my second ‘Man of the Match’ award, but it wasn’t easy. I’m grateful to the PCB and Lahore Qalandars for the support and care during my recovery — it really helped me bounce back.”*
