Sindh Education Minister Confirms Unfair Treatment of Intermediate First-Year Students in Exams

Karachi: Sindh’s Education Minister, Sardar Shah, has stated that the Intermediate First-Year students were treated unfairly in the recent exams.

Speaking after a meeting of the fact-finding committee regarding the issue of low exam results, Minister Sardar Shah revealed that the Sindh Assembly’s committee had given the inquiry committee a mandate to investigate the matter. The committee raised concerns about the infrastructure and administrative structure of the Intermediate Board and also questioned the examination system.

Sardar Shah emphasized that the students of Intermediate First-Year were victims of injustice due to the board’s incompetence, and their rights should not be compromised. As a result, the government has decided to award additional marks to students in three subjects.

The Education Minister further assured that the special committee of the Sindh Assembly will continue its work. He confirmed that the government has accepted the inquiry report with full transparency, without altering any of the committee’s recommendations.

Sardar Shah also mentioned that, according to the committee’s report, action will be taken against the employees found responsible for the mishandling. He added that the delay in appointing permanent chairmen in the boards was due to a judicial stay order.
