PTI Leadership Reaffirms Support for KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi

Islamabad: Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Gohar Ali Khan, has announced full support for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, confirming that he will continue in his position and that any campaign against him will fail.
Speaking to media representatives, Gohar Ali Khan stated that Sohail Afridi was nominated for the chief minister’s post by PTI founder Imran Khan, leaving no room for ambiguity regarding his leadership. He emphasized that Afridi is performing effectively in the province and enjoys the complete confidence of the party leadership.
The PTI chairman dismissed reports of a campaign against Afridi, calling them baseless and asserting that those behind such efforts would not succeed. He further made it clear that any internal or external attempts to undermine the KP chief minister would ultimately fail.
Gohar Ali Khan also rejected the impression of any forward bloc within PTI, maintaining that the party remains united. He said all leaders stand firmly behind Imran Khan’s decisions, and Sohail Afridi continues to have full political and organizational backing.
It is worth noting that a few days earlier, Member of the National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat had announced plans to challenge Afridi’s selection as chief minister, sparking political speculation. However, the latest statement from PTI leadership appears to have clarified the party’s position, reinforcing that leadership decisions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rest with Imran Khan.
