Virat Kohli Conditional on Return to T20 International Cricket for 2028 Olympics

Former Indian cricket captain, Virat Kohli, has expressed conditional willingness to return to T20 international cricket. In an interview, Kohli stated that if India reaches the final of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and is playing for a gold medal, he might come out of retirement for just one match. He shared his desire to win the gold medal and then retire again and return home.
It is important to note that Kohli announced his retirement from T20 cricket after India’s victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, cricket is set to be included in the Olympics for the first time in 128 years, with the sport making its return to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The 36-year-old Kohli has had an exceptional record in ICC tournaments. He showcased remarkable performance in the ICC Champions Trophy, scoring 218 runs at an average of 54.50 in five matches, including a century against Pakistan. His 84-run performance in the semi-final against Australia helped India secure a place in the final.
