Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Lauds Security Forces for Preventing Major Tragedy

Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Barrister Gohar, has praised the timely action taken by security forces during the Jaffer Express hijacking incident, which he believes prevented a tragedy similar to the APS massacre. Addressing a press conference in the federal capital, Barrister Gohar expressed his gratitude towards the security forces for averting a disaster and acknowledged their efforts in ensuring the safety of the public.
“The security forces deserve praise for their prompt action that saved the nation from another APS-like tragedy,” said Barrister Gohar, adding that the Jaffer Express incident has deeply affected Pakistan.
The PTI Chairman also condemned the targeting of civilians, stating that such actions must be opposed. He mentioned that the Prime Minister had immediately criticized PTI, using a few statements, whether right or wrong, to divide the nation. He suggested that the opposition alliance should call an All-Party Conference (APC) to address security matters.
During the conference, the Chairman of Sunni Ittehad Council, Sahibzada, held the Defense Minister responsible for the confusion during the 36-hour period of the incident. He criticized the government ministers for failing to inform the nation about the ongoing developments and demanded an in-camera session to address the issue. “We demand an inquiry into this incident,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the leader of the opposition alliance, emphasized the need for a comprehensive conference to collectively build a system that can steer the nation away from destruction. He proposed that an all-encompassing conference be called under the platform of the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan to create a unified approach for the country’s future.
