Pakistan vs India: A Historic Rivalry to Continue in ICC Champions Trophy

Due to rain, the match was shortened, and Pakistan posted 165 runs in 40 overs. India, chasing 102 runs in 19.1 overs, was declared the winner via the DLS method. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was awarded “Man of the Match” for taking 2 wickets for 19 runs.

The fourth meeting came in 2017, again in Birmingham, where India emerged victorious once more. India posted a formidable 319 runs in 48 overs, while Pakistan was dismissed for 164 runs in the 34th over. Yuvraj Singh was named “Man of the Match” for his brilliant 53 off 32 balls.

The fifth and most significant encounter was in the 2017 Champions Trophy final, where Pakistan, led by Sarfaraz Ahmed, defeated India by a massive margin of 180 runs to win their first-ever Champions Trophy. Pakistan set a target of 339 runs, scoring 338/4, and India was bowled out for just 158 runs in the 31st over. Fakhar Zaman was named “Man of the Match” for his stunning knock of 114 runs, while Hasan Ali was awarded “Man of the Series” for taking 13 wickets throughout the tournament.
