Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Calls for Rights and Unity in the ‘Give Balochistan Rights’ Movement

Quetta: Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and MPA, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, emphasized the importance of granting rights to the people of Balochistan as equal citizens. He expressed that neglecting Balochistan’s people, not considering them Pakistani, and denying them their due rights are the root causes of failure and dissatisfaction in the region. He highlighted the growing frustration as people continue to face enforced disappearances, with bodies being dumped rather than those individuals being brought into the public eye.

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman further stated that the problems, challenges, culture, and areas of Balochistan are often misunderstood by outsiders who are imposed on the province. He announced that the ‘Give Balochistan Rights’ campaign would aim to gather one lakh people in Quetta to address issues such as corruption, deprivation, and lack of rights, and pave the way for a brighter future. According to him, this movement is a revolutionary initiative, encompassing all communities, ethnicities, and languages in Balochistan, seeking justice and equal rights.

Addressing a gathering in Gwadar and meeting with various delegations, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman emphasized the urgent need to provide education and rights to the people of Balochistan. He condemned the closure of border trade despite the region’s economic hardships, describing it as economic terrorism. The speaker pointed out the growing frustration and anger across various regions of Balochistan, fueled by oppression, injustice, and corruption.

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman called on security forces and the ruling government to take responsibility for alleviating the growing discontent by addressing the grievances of the people. He stressed the importance of focusing on the issues of job opportunities, border trade, and the return of missing persons. Additionally, he urged the cessation of unnecessary restrictions, checkposts, and disrespect of the people, especially the elderly and women.

He urged that instead of violence and abuse, a language of love, brotherhood, and unity should be adopted. He called for ending corruption and corruption-related practices, while ensuring that the benefits of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Reko Diq, and Saindak projects reach the people of Balochistan. He also advocated for the launch of major infrastructure projects, such as motorways, orange trains, and metro buses, to alleviate unemployment, poverty, and illiteracy, while foiling the enemies’ conspiracies.

In his closing remarks, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman urged the public to join Jamaat-e-Islami’s ‘Give Rights to Balochistan’ movement, striving for the prosperity, peace, and security of the province. He emphasized the need for a collective effort to secure the rights of Balochistan’s people and ensure their economic and educational progress.
